Revitalizing the Walkways: Our Journey in Milton Keynes Ashland’s Part 2

Project Description

Revitalizing the Walkways: Our Journey in Milton Keynes Ashland's Part 2

Following the initial phase of the footpath remediation project in Milton Keynes Ashland’s, Jones Sites Services & Installations is pleased to update on the continuation of our work. Our goal remains to enhance local spaces practically and aesthetically. Here’s what has been happening in Milton Keynes Ashland’s Footpath Remediation PART 2.

Preparing the Path: Starting with a Strong Foundation

The second phase began with the installation of the surface course layer of tarmac, providing a smooth, final surfacing that is crucial for durability and a clean finish. Alongside this, we began to landscape and level the ground adjacent to the footpath, aiming to seamlessly integrate the path with its surroundings for a pleasing and safe walking environment.

Setting Up for Success: Efficient Site Management

As with the first part, we started by setting up the site and organizing the necessary logistics for uninterrupted work. Removing the existing worn tarmac was our first major task, essential for preparing the base for new materials.

Detail-Oriented Work: Ensuring Quality and Safety

The levelling and compacting of the sub-base followed, with particular attention to areas that were uneven. We also cleaned the edging kerbs and the sides of the footpaths to maintain a neat appearance. Any damaged kerb edges were replaced to ensure the edges were safe and visually appealing.

Building Layers: Constructing a Durable Pathway

Installing the base layer of tarmac was next, setting the stage for the final surface layer. This base is fundamental to the path’s structure, supporting the top layer and ensuring the longevity of the footpath.

Enhancing the Edges: Final Touches in Landscaping

Additional landscaping work helped to integrate the footpath with the local environment. This included more ground leveling and planting, using high-quality topsoil to support healthy growth and complement the new path.

Materials Matter: Choosing the Right Supplies

The selection of materials was critical to the project’s success. We used topsoil for the landscaping, Type 1 aggregates for a solid base, and high-quality tarmac for the pathway, ensuring each material contributed to both the function and form of the completed path.

Forward Look: Continuing to Improve Local Spaces

We continue to dedicate ourselves to projects that enhance community infrastructure and look forward to more opportunities to serve and improve public spaces.

Jones Sites Services & Installations: Committed to better pathways.
