At Jones Site Services & Installations Ltd, safety is more than just a box to tick—it’s a core part of how we work. Today, we made the decision to pull all of our teams from sites across the country to take part in a company-wide Safety Stand Down. Why? Because we believe in reinforcing the fundamentals. We believe in keeping our people safe. And most importantly, we believe that everyone should go home in the same condition they arrived—if not better.

The theme of the day was simple but crucial: “Work Safe – Home Safe”.

Back to Basics: The Foundation of Quality Work

The ``basics`` aren’t just the first things we learn—they’re the foundation of everything we do on site. It’s often the finer details, done well, that leave the biggest impression at the end of a job. That’s why our Safety Stand Down focused on key tasks that must be executed to the highest standards every single time, including:

• How to correctly install chemical and mechanical anchors
• A solid understanding of pressure testing and the risks involved
• Best practice for tightening flanges
• The correct use of spades during pressure testing
• The purpose and process of pull testing
• How to properly install solvent weld plastic pipework
• “Red Zone” awareness for working safely around plant and machinery

We also brought in an external trainer to deliver NPORS Slinger/Signaller (Banksman) training to our team at our workshops—because having a fresh set of eyes and updated knowledge helps ensure our high standards are always evolving.

Training Today, Quality Tomorrow

As a contractor, we're only ever as good as our last job. We know that. And we also know that by investing in our people—giving them the training, tools, and support they need—they’ll continue to deliver excellent work on every site, every time.

By getting the team together today, we’ve reinforced what we expect from our crews and why the small details make a big difference. We’re confident that the knowledge shared during each stand will be taken forward onto the next job, raising standards and reinforcing the culture we’re so proud of at JSS&I.
